In addition to the demolitions due to lack of permits, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in early November the reinstatement of the policy of demolishing terrorists' homes, which Palestinians claim is a form of collective punishment. VICE News traveled to Silwan and met with Palestinians and Israelis living in this contested neighborhood at a time when Jerusalem is more divided than ever. This video shows my (mis)adventure in catching the bus to the summit of the Mount of Olives to view the Old City of Jerusalem and spend the night at the Seven Arches Hotel. East Jerusalem is an exciting place where you can experience Arab culture and meet its interesting people. I show where to catch the buses to East Jerusalem and the West Bank, and where to get off if you are planning to get to the Lookout. I recommend taking Bus #275 up the Mount and then walking back down from the Lookout, visiting several popular sites on the way back to the Old City. And if you want to view the city at night, I recommend reserving the end rooms at the Seven Arches Hotel. Unforgettable views of the Old City will be your reward.

Clashes continued between protesters and security forces near the Damascus Gate in East Jerusalem on Saturday, following US President Donald Trump’s recent decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Protesters threw objects at police and set trash cans on fire in ongoing clashes with security forces. Several protesters were arrested as footage captured. Trump’s announcement on Wednesday has led Palestinians to protest in several cities across the disputed territories. The body of AP video journalist Simone Camilli was transferred from St Joseph's hospital in east Jerusalem to Ben Gurion airport on Thursday to be flown back to his native Italy for his funeral. At the airport Camilli's AP colleagues gathered around the coffin for a short service which was attended by a priest and Camilli's parents Pierluigi Camilli and Maria Vigna. Camilli, a 35-year-old Italian, died when an unexploded missile believed to have been dropped in an Israeli airstrike blew up as Gaza police engineers worked to neutralise it in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya. He was on the scene reporting on the aftermath of the month-long war, hours before Israel and Hamas agreed to extend a temporary ceasefire for five days. A freelance Palestinian translator working with Camilli, Ali Shehda Abu Afash, 36, and four police engineers also died in the blast. Three other people, including AP photographer Hatem Moussa, were badly wounded.
